Fear TV

Turn on your television, open up a newspaper, listen to the radio, just pay attention - lately the messages from the media are beginning to sound monotonous: The world is coming to an end. Today, tomorrow, soon, a new threat is on its way. And according to the press, we should all be VERY, VERY afraid. We know the world hasn't ended quite yet, and it doesn't seem as if the apocalypse is imminent. So why does the media continue to hype this idea? And why do we continue to buy it?
