Teen Drinking
Even though the legal drinking age in the United States is 21, more than a quarter of all alcohol consumed here is drunk by people under the age of 20 say Experts at Columbia University's National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse. Youth Voices reporter Mia knows all too well the potential consequences that teens face for consuming alcohol underage. At 17, Mia was sent through the Teen court system in Montgomery County. Mia seeks to find answers to whether the Teen Court system is effective in curbing the dangerous effects of underage drinking.
