Americans and obesity
There’s been a lot of controversy lately over exactly how many people die annually from obesity in the US. A year ago, government officials put the number at almost 400-thousand. After a statistical battle, they lowered their estimate to about 100-thousand. Now public health officials are faced with the possibility of having to re-convince Americans that obesity is still a serious issue. But some people never really thought being overweight was a problem to begin with. WAMU Youth Voices reporter Jennifer explains.
