About Youth Voices

The Youth Voices project teaches high school youth how to create a radio feature story about an issue that affects their lives and the larger community in which they live. The radio workshops are held three times a week for approximately 14 weeks at WAMU 88.5. Students learn from professional radio journalists and producers to develop and research stories, conduct interviews, write radio scripts, and use computers to edit and produce polished stories. Ultimately, students have the opportunity for their completed piece to air on WAMU 88.5, as well as on this website.
